East Coast Connection Vol. 4 brought out the vintage community for a full day of NYC’s biggest t-shirt exchange on October 3rd. The venue was full with over 40+ t-shirt vendors and 700 shoppers/collectors. People came from all over the country and even some from overseas. Some familiar faces were even spotted during the event  such as radio/TV personality Peter Rosenberg. In NYC Peter Rosenberg is best recognized for being the voice of radio station Hot 97. He is also notably known for his work with WWE as a host/commentator and for his work with ESPN/YES network covering sports. However his appreciation for vintage t-shirts is unknown to many. His love for wrestling as a child sparked his interest in vintage wrestling t-shirts. In an article with Hypebeast in 2017 Peter Rosenberg discusses his love for vintage wrestling t-shirts and how he sees an opportunity for vintage merchandise to evolve into something new. “Seeing how the merch game has become its own market is amazing, but also seeing how it’s led to a new market where you can have stuff like another collaboration between PUMA, the WWE and Foot Locker that does so well is cool too,” explains Peter Rosenberg.

Despite his love for wrestling his interest in vintage t-shirts goes beyond that and during ECC Vol. 4 Rosenberg was seen wearing a vintage Janet Jackson t-shirt.

Special thank you to Peter Rosenberg for being apart of East Coast Connection.

East Coast Connection Vol. 3

East Coast Connection Vol. 3 was another successful event here at Metropolis. This time we hosted a two day event with new vendors each day. There were over 20 of the best vintage t-shirt dealers in the building ready to sell, buy, and trade. The turnout was amazing both days with over 300 attendants and that’s just from what was counted! A live DJ was on site (@chambrayallday) mixing on the turntables setting the vibe for both days and we even had raffle prizes the second day. The first raffle winner won a copy of Kelly Cole’s photo-book “Naughty Vintage T-Shirts.” The next two raffle prize winners received a $50 Metropolis gift card, and a $100 Metropolis gift card. Our grand prize raffle winner won a “Roc the mic 2003 Tour” t-shirt. Overall ECC Vol. 3 was nothing less than a success with noticeable growth from our previous events. The community is only growing in the vintage world and we’re proud to be apart of pushing vintage culture forward. East Coast Connection Vol. 4 is in the works and we’re working hard on making this the best vintage t-shirt expo to date here in New York City. East Coast Connection Vol.2

East Coast Connection is a collective comprised of @futurepastnyc, @freshkillsvintage, and @metropolisnycvintage. The goal of East Coast Connection is to bring people together in the vintage world, hearing their stories, and building connections that go beyond just business. East Coast Connection Vol. 2 went down on May 30th live from Metropolis. Some of the best vintage t-shirt dealers from all over the country came together under one roof for an amazing experience we like to refer as “The New York t-shirt exchange.” It’s where instagram meets real life. Where new connections and friendships are made that creates an experience like no other when it comes to vintage clothing in New York City. East Coast Connection Vol. 2 featured 15 vendors from all over the country for a one day event. Vendors brought out their best shirts for everyone to see. Some of the best t-shirts or “grails” you only see online or in pictures were on display during East Coast Connection Vol. 2. Buying, selling, and trading went down throughout the event and many left with a smile on their face. This was one to remember and just one of many East Coast Connection installments. We would like to thank everyone who took part in this and made ECC Vol.2 an amazing event. See you at ECC Vol. 3!!!

East Coast Connection Vol. 1

East Coast Connection

On November 2, 2020 @Futurepastnyc & @freshkillsvintage came together for the first installment of East Coast Connection. It went down @richmondhoodco in Staten Island, New York. It was amazing to see the vintage community come together over the same passion & interests, building bonds that can only be created in person. This first event was the spark that continues to grow & pushes vintage culture forward. Stay tuned for announcements concerning upcoming East Coast Connection events!
