Metropolis Vintage Apparel turns 20!!

Calling all friends, family and vintage lovers to our in-house anniversary party. We’re celebrating 20 years of being part of the NYC vintage community! As the neighborhood has continually evolved, we too have grown and changed throughout the years and recently added a 2nd level.

Business is booming and we have become known as having the widest selection of vintage shoes & boots. There are only good things to come into the new year and years to follow!

Chloe Sevigny checked out the new 2nd level of Metropolis and picked up a few Boy London vintage T shirts, while Julian Casablancas (lead singer of The Strokes) was wowed by Metropolis’ shoe & boot collection.

So we already have plenty of ladies shopping for shoes at our store, but we also have an amazing collection of Men’s shoes too.  We have a variety of looks from boots, lacers, Docs, but it’s all about the dress shoe today.  The following are some haute finds that won’t last long so stop in soon!

Josh Radnor

We recently had a filming taped at our store and we’re excited for its release. It’s called “Happy. Thank You. More Please.” which was filmed over the summer throughout lower Manhattan. Josh Radnor who plays Ted Mosby from “How I Met You Mother” wrote, directed and acted in the film. Movie blogs tell us this Indie Drama is a ‘coming-of-age tale follows six lives in modern day New York, highlighted by a 20-something aspiring novelist who accidentally adopts a 6 year old African American child’.
